Dear Mrs Wallace,
At Awahono School we use lots of bin liners in our classrooms that are in our rubbish bins. I believe that we can use the bin liners that are in the rubbish bin again. There are two good reasons why.
Firstly, we use 2000 plastic bags in four terms, 500 plastic bag in one term, 50 plastic bags in a week and 10 a day. 2000 is a lot of plastic and it costs a lot of money. I think that the cleaners should grab the plastic bin liners and put the rubbish from in the bins into the big black bags but not the plastic bin liners then they put the plastic bin liners back in the rubbish bin. Then we have only one bin liner in each class, the library and in the office per year.
Secondly, the white plastic bags in the bin are going to the sea but if we stop doing this you can save the sea animals. We can stop killing the sea life and stop killing turtles.Turtles think that the plastic shopping bags are jellyfish. They feel full but they are not full at all then they die.
In conclusion, I believe that we can stop using some plastic bags in the rubbish bins in Awahono School. Please stop using the plastic bin liners that are polluting the sea animals.
Yours sincerely,
Bella
